WHY TRAIN SELF-DEFENSE?
Small social confrontations, assault, robbery, kidnapping, rape, domestic violence and even homicide, all tend to happen at close range - often within arms' reach. Familiarity and Proficiency at defending oneself in close range scenarios is an incredible skill set to possess.
Regular martial arts classes at BJJ/MMA gyms are usually not capable of teaching real world self-defense tactics because their curriculum is either based entirely on the sportive or historical aspects of their particular style.
